Drippy is a hydration companion built around a small, happy water character. It reminds you to drink during your waking hours, makes logging a glass take seconds, and celebrates streaks without turning water into a chore.
The challenge
Most hydration apps either nag or get ignored. The goal was reminders that fit a person’s day, logging fast enough to actually use, and a character with enough warmth to make the habit stick.
What I built
- Reminders based on a daily goal and your waking hours, in Gentle or Persistent styles.
- One-tap logging with a saved usual glass or a custom amount.
- Coffee and tea logging that counts partially toward the goal.
- Progress views for daily water, weekly activity and streaks, plus badges like “First pour” and “Perfect week”.
- Offline-first: drinks are saved and reminders scheduled on the device.
- Optional sign-in to connect progress to an account.
Key decisions
“An account is optional, not a gate.”
Reminders and logs live on the device, so Drippy works from the first tap and offline. Removing the sign-up step takes away the biggest drop-off point for a habit app.
Where it is now
